Staff Rules

Before applying to join our staff team, please read and keep in mind these rules before and whilst applying.
If you are already a Supernova staff member, please read and follow these rules at all times.

Don't abuse your powers.
This is probably the biggest rule and concern as the sever owner. If you are accepted to join our staff team, we are basically trusting you with a portion of the server.

Staff power abuse includes:

• Griefing any part of the server.
• Banning people for no or insignificant reason.
• removing or editing plugins without permission.
• hacking the server
• basically doing anything with your powers that we didn't allow you to do.

If you abuse your staff powers there will be serious consequences depending on the severity of your abuse.



Listen to the players
Your role as a staff member is mainly to help the server run smoothly and efficiently, if a player is unhappy, this cannot be achieved. Don't act as if you are a higher ranking person than the players. You must treat everyone equally and with the outmost respect. This does not mean that you must follow the guidance or rules of a player, the only rules you must follow are these.

If you don't quite understand, here a few examples:

• If you disrespect a player and they ask you to stop, don't argue, just stop.
• If you accidentally break a rule and a player acknowledges it, stop immediately, there could be consequences. Even if you think that you're not breaking a rule, keep it to yourself and discuss with a high ranking staff member such as myself (TheMCYoshi ) or @pugle .
• If a player makes up his/her own rules then don't listen to them, tell them kindly to stop.
• If a player tells you how to act or interpret a rule, take it into consideration, but don't follow their guidance exactly.
  

Here on Supernova we treat our players as the highest ranking class, after all, you can't have a server without players.



Have reason for your actions
Wether you're the owner or a builder, always have reasoning for your actions. If you are granted the power to punish a player, you must also have evidence for your reasoning.



Follow the general server rules
If you become a staff member, this does not mean you are suddenly allowed to disobey the general server rules. If you do not know what these rules are, see the rules board of Supernova.



Don't lie
If you have evidence of a player breaking a rule, then go ahead and punish them appropriately. If you make up or lie to create evidence then you will be punished.



Punish players appropriately
If a player breaks a rule, that doesn't mean you have permission to punish them however you want.
Eg. don't permanently ban a player for minor profanity.

No item spawning
No matter how hard player begs for it, do not spawn in any items for them or yourself.
